THE TEST DRIVE

Like it or not, you've been dragged from your world into the sanctum. It's a pretty nice city, all things considered--sci-fi, high-tech, glamourous.... Except, of course, for the giant dome encircling it, and the threat of glitching, contaminated zombies at your door. Looks like humanity's built itself a fortress that looks suspiciously like a cage, too.

The object of this meme is to get people familiar with the world of the Sanctum, and to try to see if their characters would fit in a sci-fi utopia such as this. Here are your options:

1. Intro: Waking Up. Make your intro post, folks. You wake up in a strange place, and get a strange transmission to go with it. What are you going to do?

2. Failed Upgrade. One of your upgrades is more wrong than right. How will you cope? What exactly is different? Who will help?

3. Mission outside the dome. You've come under fire. The strange things are coming towards you. Luckily, you have your suit, your teammates, and a lot of firepower. Or are you stranded on your own, looking for someone to come to the rescue? Perhaps you're the rescuer.

4.Infected Something bit you. Now you're turning into them, and all you can hear is a high-pitched squealing in your head, like a frequency you just can't quite hear. Do you tell your loved ones, or do you wait? Do you trust your doctor?

5. Military training Everyone's got to start somewhere. You're training the green folks, maybe you're one of the newcomers yourself. Maybe you haven't even touched a gun before in your life. Either way, you'd better start now.

6. Chance encounter makin' my way downtown walking fast, faces pass--you get the point. You bump into someone! Shopping, or strolling in a park? Maybe just lunch in a cafe?

7. Glory to the Network! Network post. Text with general queries, say what you have to say to the entirety of the whole city.

8. Wildcard: Whatever you want. Mix and match, switch and swatch, make something else up entirely!

[ He's never before had a sound roll through him like oil and blood, thick and violent and viscous and leaving a filmy residue after. But that laugh? That laugh is it.

[He considers the deal carefully. Two weeks. Two weeks... trapped in flesh and dealing with idiots and fools. Still, imagine the potential. And he only specified visceral murder. There were many other forms of murder he could threaten, less enjoyable certainly but...]

[ Is this what it feels like to sell your soul? Well he's not got much of one seeing as he's already died but. Omega is not satan. Omega is part of the same person that gave him Delta, that made Theta. He's just...really violent and really angry and York knows why. He's got a right to it.

So. We'll come get you.

I will be ready to accompany you when you get here.

[He will walk out of here unaided. He doesn't care how many times he falls, he will at least walk by the time they arrive.

He has to consider that this is simply a ruse after all. A trap and that they will try to kill him as soon as they enter the room. He wonders how difficult it would be to smash the monitor, or even just tear one of the cables loose.]

[Fortunately or not, Delta is about the most non-threatening person around - it's pretty obviously he won't be offering harm to Omega when they appear outside the main facility some fifteen minutes later. York is clearly willing and able to take care of the both of them, but on Delta's recommendation weapons aren't displayed openly and Delta at least is dressed casually. The best way not to antagonize Omega is to not challenge him.

He's pretty easy to identify, though - there's only one large, angry man in a hospital gown around. Delta signals to him from outside the building.]

[ Right now he doesn't think he'd need weapons- but since Omega wanted Delta and Delta didn't need him hovering- York stayed in the car. Let D handle this. If something goes wrong he's right there if need be. ]

[Delta may be physically non-threatening but he's not foolish enough to underestimate his brother. Delta was far from harmless and he remembered Delta's warning. He is neither trusted nor welcome here. Still, he feels slightly more at ease with Delta than with the human.]

Delta

[Since the man motioning to him isn't York, it's only logical that it's Delta. He scrutinizes him for a moment, naturally Delta wouldn't be carrying an obvious weapon, then looks around and decides he doesn't have any other options. His hand tightens around the short loop of cable he managed to free from the back of the monitor and starts toward Delta.

He's not graceful by any means, but he's walking.

[Staying at a respectful (read: safe) distance, Delta nods and offers the canvas bag with some bottled water, emergency rations, several pairs of clothing and some loose flips.] As shoe size is greatly variable, I recommend you get properly measured at a department store and acquire footwear based on that. However, this bag should contain a fair selection of materials to get you started.

[He might be staring a little bit. So this is what Bifrons decided Omega should look like. Interesting.]

Are we going to let him change out here, or are we going to take him somewhere a little less conspicuous?

[ Delta may not be armed but York would be some kind of idiot to not have at least two handguns and a few knives on him for this particular meeting. Even if he hadn't managed to talk D into grabbing something, he wasn't coming into this without a backup plan. ]

Get in the car, we'll get him to the safe house.
