( MEMES ) TEST DRIVE >> 003.

Like it or not, you've been dragged from your world into the sanctum. It's a pretty nice city, all things considered--sci-fi, high-tech, glamourous.... Except, of course, for the giant dome encircling it, and the threat of glitching, contaminated zombies at your door. Looks like humanity's built itself a fortress that looks suspiciously like a cage, too.
The object of this meme is to get people familiar with the world of the Sanctum, and to try to see if their characters would fit in a sci-fi utopia such as this. Here are your options:
1. Intro: Waking Up. Make your intro post, folks. You wake up in a strange place, and get a strange transmission to go with it. What are you going to do?
2. Failed Upgrade. One of your upgrades is more wrong than right. How will you cope? What exactly is different? Who will help?
3. Mission outside the dome. You've come under fire. The strange things are coming towards you. Luckily, you have your suit, your teammates, and a lot of firepower. Or are you stranded on your own, looking for someone to come to the rescue? Perhaps you're the rescuer.
4.Infected Something bit you. Now you're turning into them, and all you can hear is a high-pitched squealing in your head, like a frequency you just can't quite hear. Do you tell your loved ones, or do you wait? Do you trust your doctor?
5. Military training Everyone's got to start somewhere. You're training the green folks, maybe you're one of the newcomers yourself. Maybe you haven't even touched a gun before in your life. Either way, you'd better start now.
6. Chance encounter makin' my way downtown walking fast, faces pass--you get the point. You bump into someone! Shopping, or strolling in a park? Maybe just lunch in a cafe?
7. Glory to the Network! Network post. Text with general queries, say what you have to say to the entirety of the whole city.
8. Wildcard: Whatever you want. Mix and match, switch and swatch, make something else up entirely!

[The touch was unexpected though not unwelcome, but he didn't repress the soft flinch. It was nice, a cool counterpoint to the discomfort he faced. He ducked his head and chuckled airily, willing this wave to subside. Looking weak in front of anyone was bad, especially in a first impression.]
Ah, thank you for your kindness, but don't delay your check up on account of me. I'll... be fine in short order.
[For a brief moment he felt an overpowering urge, not controlled but more a reflex before he fought that down. Her presence had a definite result on his ability to do so. Vomiting on her would be a poor life choice. Instead, he'd rather focus on other things, and gathering information would bring slight reprieve. Plus, the sound of her voice was... nice.]
How long have you been here, miss?

[She sits, at least, hand a cool presence against his skin as long as it was permitted. Romeo had done much the same for her on a number of occasions when the glitches were too much to power through or she felt too dizzy to move.]
My whole life. I was born in the Dome. You must be one of the Immune, yes?
[She's trying and failing to place him- that'd require an uplink to the data archive and that's a whole other level of migraine she has no desire to worry about. For now she just starts to lightly massage the nape of his neck.]

[The shock of that statement had him turning to look at her, nausea forgotten in favor of the surprise that anyone born and raised in these conditions would... take so kindly to someone brought from afar. Though he tried to smooth over the surprise with something softer that followed, eyes darting to the floor.
The rubbing to the back of his neck did help. Wonders, in fact, but she could probably tell by how tense he'd been versus now]
I am. The... well, the technology here is similar but this is very different from where I call home. Unless this is some fouled-up Earth, I'd say it was far away from home, too.
[Though, what an insensitive thing to say about one's home. He had the decency to look a bit sheepish]

[Her smile was something small and unassuming- terribly close to a real, honest thing for how tired she was. Why put up an act? For now things were...somewhat stable.]
We're far, far from Earth in more than one way I'm afraid. But the technology here is quite a wonder- when they are not making you feel ill for being so bold as to use them.

[A soft chuff of a laugh escaped him, feeling the nausea pass enough to where he could duck away from the touch to his neck and face her properly.]
How far are we from Earth in distance? You've heard of it?
[Considering she was a native here and survival seemed more paramount than education, he genuinely hadn't expected her to recognize his home. At all.]

[She huffs a soft laugh of her own at that, rubbing his nape until he no longer has need of it. IT's not as though it's a troublesome thing to do, his skin is soft and his hair amusing to toy with.]
Time and distance. Earth was a long, long time ago.

A lady of looks and confidence, it seems. You carry yourself well.
[His smile was more forced than friendly, but she had helped him to feel better. Therefore the edge to his tone was a bit dulled. The shock sorted out his nausea and he felt nearly normal again]
Well, if you're going to do something, best to not do it half-arsed. I saw the vids explaining what happened, but it does seem... dreadfully far-fetched.

[She pats his shoulder before withdrawing her hands entirely, contented with the fact that the worst of his vertigo seems to have passed. Anything more, any masks raised or stiffness earned is something she's accustomed enough to seeing that she doesn't comment. It just is.]
And yet here you are. We're grateful for you, truly. Not everyone will act like it, but we are.

[There was little point to complain about a situation that couldn't be avoided. He was here, brought here to help people based on his merit and not his more unique abilities. They were nullified here, so essentially, it was... a bit nice to be wanted for who he was, not what.]
Regardless, it's the least I can do, I suppose. To try and help. It's a sad thing that people haven't had the chance to enjoy the planet they live on.
[He doubted that this lady's generation was responsible for the all-out destruction of their world. Children, having to deal with the results of their parents' follies.]
...I should thank you, for being so welcoming. Generally foreigners aren't.
no subject
You did not choose this.

Still, no sense in prolonging our time here by having pointless rows. Once we sort this out, what... happens to we Immune?
[He hadn't had chance to speak to anyone native that he knew of. Her insight seemed like it would be sound.]
Are we sent home or are we here permanently?

[She's not certain- no one outside of Bifrons is truly certain. =]

Who's in charge, here? In this place, I mean. A leader or something? Also, what's your name?
no subject
My name is Juliett, darling. What can I call you?
no subject
Arawn. So there's... much more going on here aside from the predatory populace eager to rip us to shreds? And here I thought those sort of pandemics brought people together.
