Caine powers the boots down and walks over to Kirk, taking a seat next to him with the boots dangling over the edge. The idea that the technology hadn't been seen as profitable does resonate with him and he accepts that readily. He doesn't necessarily agree with it, but different planets had different takes on what was 'valuable'.
